Toyan makes one of the widest ranges of miniature engines that actually burn fuel: a single, an inline twin, an inline four, a flat-four and a V8, most of them in both petrol and nitro versions. They are real four-stroke engines, and several are sold without the parts you need to start them. Here is every Toyan engine we cover, side by side, with the specifications checked against the retailers that sell them.

Petrol or Nitro
Most Toyan engines come in two versions, and the choice matters more than it looks:
- Petrol versions (usually with a G in the model number, such as the FS-L200GC, FS-L400BGC and FS-V800WGPC) run on ordinary 92-octane or better petrol with a spark plug and CDI ignition. Petrol is easy to buy anywhere.
- Nitro versions run on model nitro fuel, methanol with 20–25% nitromethane, and use four-stroke glow plugs instead of spark plugs. Nitro fuel is sold for RC models, is corrosive, and needs after-run oil to stop the engine rusting inside.

What Is Not in the Box
Toyan engines are usually sold as the bare engine, and the retailers are explicit about what you need to add:
- The V8s: ignition, starting and water-cooling parts are bought separately. Stirlingkit's starter kits for the V8 start at about $250, on top of the engine price.
- The FS-L200AC: the ignition module, the glow plugs and the 7.4V starting battery are not included.
- The FS-L200GC: the $229 price is the engine only; sets with the starter kit start at $329.
- The FS-L400BGC: the Stirlingkit full set is the most complete, with starting harness, fuel tank, radiator and battery.
- Fuel is never included.
Which Toyan to Choose
- The cheapest way into Toyan: the FS-L200AC nitro at $199, or the FS-L200GC petrol at $229, remembering the extras each needs.
- To watch it work: the transparent FS-S100AT.
- The best all-in package: the FS-L400BGC full set, a four-cylinder with nearly everything in the box.
- A boxer: the FS-B400 flat-four.
- A V8: the FS-V800WGPC petrol version for the lower price and easier fuel, or the nitro FS-V800 for more power.

What We Could Not Verify
- Power figures are Toyan's and not independently measured. The FS-L200 listing gives both 0.6 PS and 0.82 PS in different sections; we use the figure from its specification table.
- The FS-S100AT's cooling and exact box contents are not clear from its listing.
- Stock varies by version: several nitro and petrol variants were sold out when we checked, and Enginediy listed the petrol V8 as a presale.

The same 7 cc SOHC inline twin in its nitro version, the cheapest Toyan engine at $199. It has a high-torque starting motor, but the retailer states that the ignition module, the four-stroke glow plugs and the 7.4V starting battery are not included.

TOYAN FS-S100AT Transparent Single
A 3.5 cc single-cylinder four-stroke with a transparent version of its casing, so you can see the engine's 'heart' working, rated at 0.5 PS between 3,500 and 8,500 rpm. Toyan's listing says it can run on either petrol or methanol. The fifth-anniversary edition; the version with a free base was sold out when we checked.

TOYAN FS-B400 14cc Flat-Four (Nitro)
A 14 cc horizontally opposed four-cylinder, the flat-four layout of the original VW Beetle, built as a DIY kit. It runs on 20–25% nitro with four-stroke glow plugs, is air-cooled and has an electric start.
